Mandated programs. Local service.

Xi Nu Nu participates in the internationally mandated programs of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. while responding to the needs of West Valley communities.

Programs that guide the chapter’s work.

These mandates guide the chapter’s work in achievement, scholarship, service, health, civic participation, youth development, and brotherhood.

Recognize excellence. Expand opportunity.

Achievement Week

Observed each November to recognize individuals at the local and international levels who have made noteworthy contributions toward improving the quality of life for Black Americans. A high-school essay contest for college-bound seniors is held in conjunction with Achievement Week, with scholarships awarded to winners.

Scholarship

Social Action Programs

All levels of the fraternity are expected to facilitate, participate in, and coordinate activities that uplift their communities. Activities include voter registration and education, literacy efforts, mentoring, volunteer service, Habitat for Humanity, and fundraising for charitable causes.

Voter Registration, Education, and Mobilization

Encourages chapters to uplift their communities through the power of the vote by coordinating voter education, registration, mobilization, and additional local civic initiatives.

NAACP

Every district and chapter is required to maintain an NAACP Life Membership at Large or an annual membership, and individual members are strongly encouraged to become members.

Strengthen people and families.

Health Initiatives

Promotes good health practices through chapter programming. Mandated areas include the Charles Drew Blood Drive, HIV/AIDS awareness, and the American Diabetes Association partnership, while local chapters may add other health initiatives.

Fatherhood Initiative

Provides a safe space for men to share real-life experiences and build a fraternal bond through workshops that offer fathers support, knowledge, skills, and resources to strengthen their families and maintain healthy relationships with their children.

Honor the bond and sustain the brotherhood.

Memorial Service

March 12 of each year is established as Memorial Day. Chapters conduct an appropriate service to remember members who have entered Omega Chapter.

Reclamation and Retention

A concerted effort at the international, district, and local levels to retain active brothers and return inactive brothers to full participatory status so they may enjoy the full benefits of Omega.
